Checking In With...Raffaella Masciadri

Raffaella MasciadriLet's check in with Raffaella Masciadri, the Sparks sharp shooting guard who provided instant energy off the bench during the 2008 season. Masciadri is currently playing in Italy for Famila Wuber Schio and is averaging 13.0 points per game and 2.0 rebounds and one assist in 37 minutes.

Here is what Raffaella had to say regarding this past season, her plans for the offseason and her goals for next year:

Sparks: What are your thoughts on the 2008 season?
RM: I thought it was a great season but it hurts that we were 1.3 seconds from the WNBA Finals.

Sparks: Do you have any vacation plans for the offseason or anywhere you'd like to go?
RM: My ideal holiday would be in Australia because it's a place I've never been and seems like there is an adventure around every corner. I've also never been there so I'd love to experience something new.

Sparks: Where will you call home this offseason and why?
RM: My home is in Italy but this year I'm very sad to leave L.A. and I feel that a part of my heart will be here!

Sparks: What is your most memorable moment from the 2008 season?
RM: The last second of game 2 against San Antonio. The feeling of being in the Western Conference Finals was great but not being in the WNBA Finals will help me to work hard overseas to be mentally tough for next year.

Sparks: What are your goals for the 2009 season?
RM: My goal is to work hard during the offseason to have the opportunity to come back to the Sparks and win a WNBA championship.
