Storm Add Kate Paye to Roster, Waive Smith
The Seattle Storm today claimed guard Kate Paye off waivers and waived guard Charmin Smith, Storm General Manager and Head Coach Lin Dunn announced.
Paye, who played three seasons with the Seattle Reign in the ABL, averaged 2.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and a team-high 3.0 assists in 32 games with the Minnesota Lynx last season.
Smith, originally selected by Seattle in the sixth round (23rd overall) of the 2000 WNBA Expansion Draft from the Minnesota Lynx, appeared in all 64 games in the Storm’s first two seasons. During her collegiate career at Stanford, Smith participated in three NCAA Final Fours.
The Storm’s training camp roster stands at 15 players, not including Alessandra Santos de Oliveira and Kamila Vodichkova, both of whom are not in camp yet due to overseas playing obligations.
The roster must be cut down to 11 active players on May 24.
