Storm Waive Pickney, Record

The Seattle Storm today requested waivers on free agent forwards Beth Record and Elizabeth Pickney, Storm General Manager and Head Coach Lin Dunn announced.

The Storm’s training camp roster now stands at 15 players, not including Alessandra Santos de Oliveira and Kamila Vodichkova, both of whom are not in camp yet due to overseas playing obligations.

The roster must be cut down to 11 active players on May 24.

The Storm opens its 2002 preseason schedule on Wednesday against Utah at Salt Lake Community College, and then the team plays the Sacramento Monarchs at the University of California-Davis on Saturday.

Seattle will host two preseason games, against Utah on Sunday, May 19 at KeyArena at 3:30 p.m. and against Sacramento on Thursday, May 23 at Pacific Lutheran University’s Olsen Auditorium at 7 p.m.

The team’s third season in the WNBA tips off Thursday, May 30 against the New York Liberty at KeyArena.
