An Update From DeMya
Hey Sun Fans!
Long time no talk! I hope you all are enjoying the fall season and had really cute costumes and decorations for Halloween. My daughter and I decorated our house for the first time this year. We stuck to the entrance way but it came out pretty good, so next season we are moving on up like “The Jeffersons,” haha. Anyway, my two month off-season has been very hectic and very fun. My daughter has been involved in everything from dance to soccer. She just finished cheerleading and I’m sad to report that I let her quit soccer. She hated it because they didn’t play the cookie monster game where, if you kick the ball into the net, it’s like the monster eating the cookie! LOL, I don’t know either, but that thought really makes her enjoy her soccer class at school. Also, she won’t have a choice when it comes to playing basketball, so I thought, I can’t really force her to play soccer when I know she is going to be too big for the sport in a few years anyway!! Right?!?! But anyway, Zachara went out as a Kitty Kat Fairy for Halloween, and I was Laila Ali – with a little bit of DW swag of course ;-). What were you guys?
While in the midst of enjoying all the Halloween festivities, I was also figuring out what to pack because Zachara and I are leaving for ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA in two weeks!!! I will be playing on their women’s team there and I am so excited! I have never been to Australia, but I know they speak English and the weather is great! I have been in Russia and China for the last eight years, so to be somewhere warm at this time of the year is such a thrill! I hear that it is beautiful and very close to Kangaroo Island. For as many zoos as I have taken Zachara to, I don’t think I have ever seen a real live Kangaroo. Weird, huh?
The best part of it all is I don’t think I will need to bring one suitcase full of groceries like I usually do when going to play overseas. I think I will be OK there, hahaha! I have been working out here in Texas, and the itch to play is killing me. I am so ready to go!
